2024

CLIMATE AND HARVEST
The year began with a mild winter, without sharp drops in temperatures and few temperature variations, only a few nights with temperatures below zero.
At the vegetative resumption, favorable season in the first weeks for vegetative growth
July and August were characterized by intense heat and an almost total absence of rain, which led to a harvest campaign that was about 20 days early compared to 2023, with all the grapes harvested in August to produce our Rosés (both still and sparkling) and Grechetto IGT Umbria.
From September 7th, however, there was a drop in temperatures and rain that helped to realign the ripening of the red grapes (Sagrantino, Sangiovese, Merlot) and white grapes (Trebbiano Spoletino) to the seasonality. Thanks to a very careful management of the soil and foliage, although the plants were stressed by the summer drought, they did not suffer any blockage and the September rains put the plants in a condition to complete a perfect ripening of the fruits.
As the second week of October approaches, rain and temperatures drop more and more intense, but the right agronomic management and great attention during the harvest phase always led to obtaining healthy and whole grapes.
