CLIMATE AND HARVEST
The vintage started with a mild winter, followed by a spring with temperatures below average that slowed down the first phenological phases; the very hot climate of the summer months, however, raised fears of excessive stress on the vines, a fear averted around mid-August by some thunderstorms; the rainfall and good night-time temperature variations in the period preceding the harvest finally led to a realignment with the normal ripening periods for Sagrantino.
